Excessive amounts of any of the oxides in the unity formula as suggested by the limit formula for the firing temperature.
An Al2O3 : SiO2 ratio of around 1 : 9 for stoneware temperatures will likely produce a highly textured and opaque glaze.
Textured glazes will result if there is no B2O3 in the unity formula.
