Storing glaze
images with your recipes on disc is a very convenient way of quickly
identifying recipes you are trying to locate.
Matrix V5 displays
a thumbnail image of a loaded recipe file in the tool bar at the
top of the Matrix window
You can store up to six images with a single recipe. The first of those images will appear at the top of the Matrix window when the recipe is loaded. To see the other images you must open the Glaze Picture window as shown above.
The
Glaze Pictures Window
 |
The glaze picture window has spaces for 6 images.
To work with one of the images or one of the spaces click the "Activate" button for that space.
To view an image at full available size:
- activate the space showing the thumbnail then
- click the "View Full Image" button
|
Viewing an enlargement of a glaze picture
The enlargement window can be expanded to full screen size.
If you click
on "View Full Image" button another window opens which can be enlarges to full screen size by either dragging the border of the window or by using the icon in the top right hand corner of the window. The quality of the image in the enlargement window will depend on the quality of the original image.
The
Location of Glaze Pictures on Disk
When a recipe is first saved in Matrix there are three files automatically created:
- the recipe file itself (.rec) containing the recipe and unity formula together with the firing temperature and other brief information about the glaze.
- a file (.gec) ready to accept the names and notes about each image you might like to "attach" to the recipe.
- a file (.txt) ready to accept text information that you might like to save about the glaze. This file has an unlimited size and can be loaded into Word or other word processing software
As you store pictures of a glaze the image files are stored in the same directory and given numbers e.g.
- "New Thompson-1_rec.jpg", - this is the image that will appear in the main Matrix window
- "New Thompson-2_rec.jpg" etc.
The image below show the contents of the Individual Recipes folder. If you have saved recipes to a recipe database then the same set of supporting files and images associated with the recipe would appear in the Recipe Databases folder.
If you move an individual recipe to a recipe database then you should copy the associated files to the Recipe Databases folder.
